Circuit Court

Summary: Circuit Court in session. James Reese found guilty of forging a promisory note signed by Henry Anderson for nine barrels of flour, which he traded to Mr. Abram. Lang, of Staunton, for a gold watch. Prosecuted by Col. Harman and Powell Harrison, Esq., and defended by Messrs. Michie, Skinner, and Michie. Jury selected in the case against Rev. Daniel Downey: Sam'l Branneman, J. Sidor, A.G. McCune, F. M. Finley, Rob Terrell, Jno. Price; Jas. F. Hite, Isaac A. Bushong, Isaac Baker, Job Couger, Wm. Ramsay, William Hess.
