Death of Mr. Bushnell

Summary: R.H. Bushnell, who shot himself at the American Hotel, died on 10/13/1858.

Summary: The three local military companies paraded on 10/16/1858: the guards under Capt. Baylor, the first militia company under Lieut. Patterson, and the second militia company under Capt. Imboden. Capt. Christian had been appointed an aid to the governor and had resigned his command of the first militia company. Oscar Fox elected to fill the vacancy, with Howard Grove elected a lieutenant.
