The Railroads and the Fair

Summary: The railroad will be fully open for travel and freight on the 15th. A special train will run from Charlottesville to Staunton daily during the fair.
Sports at the Fair

Summary: The fair, though primarily an exhibition of industry and agriculture, will also include "innocent and healthful amusements and sports." The most popular amusements included a balloon ascension, a dance, and a dress tournament.
