| It is a fact which all should bear in mind, that contracts for service between whites and colored persons for any time longer than two months are required to be in writing, signed by both parties, and acknowledged before a justice, notary public, or two w itnesses, who shall certify, on their oaths, that the contract was read and explained to the colored parties. |
