Samuel Franklin Carson
Samuel Franklin Carson was a Confederate officer during the war. He was a member of Company D 5th Virginia Infantry and fought with that unit until he was captured and placed in a prisoner of war camp in 1864. As a prisoner he would become one of the "Immortal 600," a group of Confederate officers who received extremely harsh treatment by their Union captors as retribution for similar treatment allegedly given to Union prisoners. |
