James Bumgardner was the father, Melinda was the mother, and the others shown were their children. Eugenia Emeline Bumgardner was the eldest. She married Archibald Sproul, and left the quilt to her granddaughter Eugenia Sproul (May). Eugenia Sproul May died February 27, 1992, and left the quilt to her daughter Eugenia May, who is the present owner, and who has expressed the intention of leaving the quilt to her niece, Eugenia Dean May.
