Considerable care has been taken by the scholars who created the Valley of the Shadow to observe any known copyright interests. Much of the material was authored by those scholars, and much original source material is in the public domain under U.S. Copyright law. Nevertheless, some of the materials on the Valley of the Shadow website may still be under copyright.

Valley of the Shadow makes the site freely available for non-commercial uses in research, teaching, scholarship, and private study. Site users are responsible for any uses they make of materials on this site. We ask that you properly cite the source in any copies you elect to make. (Please see the example below.)
