Camp New Salem, VA
Dear Brother,
I have been looking for this stamp I wrote to you for this week so I will have to remind you
again Hen I'm out entirely all the letters I write I have to endorse & if you don't
send them stamp you will have to pay all the postage Well Hen my Registration came back the
other day disapproved so I can't get off at present & will have to get the uniform
shave bought the cloth at [unclear: 30] dollars per yard [illeg.]

[unclear: 16225] Capt. Cochran was elected Col Gibson Lt Col
Eakels Maj. last Thursday of the [unclear: 14th Reg VaCal] Hen I want you to send me at
least fifty stamps five dollars worth & call on Maggie for the money if I never get
back. Hen I will also send an advertisement in this I wish you would
have published in Spectator if you please & charge me with the bill. Well I must go
close for the present Give my love to all my caring friends & look over a hurried
written letter.
