Dear Sister
I take my pen in hand to inform you I am well i hope when these
few lines approaches you they may find you enjoying the Same blessing they are all well at home I was at home 8
days not long Ago but i had not time to come down to See you I would have liked very
much to have visited you all i promised fancy to come down: when i get
A furlough i expect to come. i want you to write to me whenever you can. i have not much to write at this present time. we
just came off picket day before yesterday. i didn't think it will be long until
we will have to march. The Summer
campaign will soon open. The Yankees
can't lay Still until Spring. the weather is very good. i Saw uncle Sam A few days
Ago he is well and looks very well & i hope you are
getting
along
very well. i Expect to write A letter to fancy
before long i must write one to Frank this
evening. So i must close for
