I have the honor to refer to a communication made by me to your headquarters under date December 26/67 enquirey for Gabriel Brown(colored) on behalf of his daughter Betsey Brown, returned to to your Headquarters by endorsement at this office January 24/68

I hear this morning that Gabriel Brown lives at Stevenson's Depot near Winchester and if transportation asked for has not been received by you Gabriel if found may be able to send for Betsy & her children. She is a charge now upon friends nearly as poor as herself.
