Freedmen's Bureau Records: John A. McDonnell to Thomas P. Jackson, March 3, 1868

McDonnell asks Jackson to report when he will be in Monterey, the seat of Highland County, and if its County Court meets at the same time as Augusta's.

In compliance with the requirements of Circular No. 1, C.S. Head Quarters Assistant Commissioner Virginia, one copy of which is herewith transmitted, and the receipt of which you will please acknowledge, you will at once designate the days at which you can be found at Monterey. It is desirable that, if Highland County Court sits at a different time from the Augusta County Court, you should make your monthly visit at the time the Court is in session.
