Alfred Stribling (colored) complains that Mr James Cook owes him for 15 days work at 50 cents per day $7 50/100 .

Mr Cook refuses to pay [unclear: assyningassigning] very insufficient reasons for his refusal and I respectfully refer the case to you for proper legal remedy before you.
