Dear Sir:
I called upon General Russel - He Said he could give you no authority to raise more than 100 men. For that he would Send me your commission this day. That he would Send you an order to be mustered in, in Pittsburgh & that would give you authority to swear in your own men. I will mail commission as Soon as received.
