Dear Wife i take this present time to write you these few lines to let you know that i am Well at present and i hope When these few lines reach you they may find you in the same state of health i receive your kind letter this Day With the greatest of pleasure a how glad i feel When i get a letter from you for i am so proud to think that you are going along so Well since i left home for that Was all mi [unclear: thot] When i left home it am very happy to tell you that i am am getting along very Well so far now i am [unclear: Clirk] in the [unclear: sore] [unclear: rom] i am living on the best plenty to eat and plenty to Wear and a little money to buy my tobacco to and i am just as big a man as anybody it is time for me to open the Door i have not got time to write much but i hope that you Will excuse this bad writing for i am in a hurry to get Done but i Will write again i hope that you Will send me your likeness in the next letter
