My Dear
i take my Pen in hand to inform you that i am Well at Present i hope that these few lines may find you in the same state of health i have receive your letter on the 11th day of september and i Was glad to get it and i Was very glad to [unclear: heaid] from John i did not know Whether he had Come home or not but i am Well as Can be expected at Present i haven't done any Work yet but now they are giving out the furloughs now i think that that i Will be home in a few days i think but you most not get out of here for i ain't in any danger of getting hurt so that you need not be afraid of me not getting hurt again soon i Would like to know Whether you have got any money or not for if you have not got any money Why i Will try to send you some as soon as i get it We Will get our money on the 18th day of this month and i send it till i get a letter again and than i Will send it please to write and let me know Whether you need any thing or not and try to [illeg.] in [unclear: haid] for i Will be at home to state i [unclear: thingt] before long and then you may look for me before long i Will be either home or else Close to home to [unclear: grill] and than you look for me about every day or so i hope please to write soon and let me know how you all are
