December 6 1856

Chambersburg

Dear Sir

Inquiries are made at me about the resumption of the Franklin Rail Road.

Will you allow me to inquire of you, whether you & your friends have come [unclear: on] terms with Misters [unclear: Beddle] & [unclear: Hutchinson] & what are the prospects of Congress?-- If you have I will be disposed to promote your success; and if I were a younger man, would like to embark with you in it

Respectfully
Yours

George Chambers
