Summary: Four children of Captain James H. and J. P. Callison died recently. Annie McPeters Callison died July 17, 1864, of scarlet fever. Virginia Agnes Callison, nearly ten years old, died August 23, 1864, of flux. John Erskine Callison died July 31, 1864, of flux. Sue Hall Callison died the same evening of flux. John and Sue were buried in the same grave.

One Cent Reward!!!

Ran away from the subscriber living near Jennings Gap, in this County, on the 7th of October, a negro Boy named

George Freeman,

aged about Twenty years--yellow complexion, very stout and healthy.

I will give the above reward if delivered to me, or secured so that I can get him.

Negroes for Hire

Summary: Someone has two African-American girls and two African-American boys to hire out for the remainder of the year or for one year from the date of hiring. The boys are 12 or 13 and 16 and can do any work on a farm or in a home. The girls are 8 or 10 and 13 or 14, and the oldest is capable of doing housework.
