Our colored people had better answer this question, before they join the Radicals. It is a fact that de truf is de white folks feels above us, and as dey see we is eben wid 'em, it kind ob aggravates dem. And as to de Yankees, dey are worse dan our folks. A Yankee nebber knows when to stop axin a nigger to work; and when de end oh de year come, an' you ax him for money, bless de Lord, you owes him.
