Summary:
Union Colonel Donn Piatt writes to the commanding officer at Chambersburg in June, 1863, to provide orders for troops arriving in the town by train.


Comdg. Officer, Chambersburg, Pa.:

Baltimore,

June 15, 1863.

The trains from Martinsburg having reached Chambersburg, Capt. W. H. Boyd, First New York Cavalry, with his command, and all other cavalry there from this department, will proceed immediately, via Emmitsburg and Frederick, to Harper's Ferry, and report to Brig.-Gen. Tyler for duty.
