From: D. N. COUCH, Maj.-Gen.
July 13, 1863.

Summary:
Union General Darius Couch writes from Chambersburg to General William F. Smith regarding plans and movements after the battle of Gettysburg.

Brig.-Gen. Smith:

Chambersburg,

July 13, 1863.

Dear Sir:

Your note, informing me that you were to move on, and join your forces to Meade, is received.

If you return to me, there will be enough for us all to do.

The batteries will not be of much use to Meade, I am fearful, particularly E. Spencer Miller's. Will you leave the transportation or return it?

Respectfully,

D. N. COUCH,
Maj.-Gen.
