Summary:
In December, 1863, Confederate Colonel William Jackson's cavalry attempted to
stop a Union raid led by William Averell in West Virginia and the Shenandoah
Valley. In this dispatch sent through Staunton, Confederate General Samuel
Jones' Assistant Adjutant sends orders to Jackson.
