From: CHAS. S. STRINGFELLOW.
August 11, 1863.

Summary:
Confederate Assistant Adjutant Charles Stringfellow forwards General Samuel Jones an August, 1863, telegram from Robert E. Lee. In the telegram, Lee tells Stringfellow to stay advised of Union troop strengths in the Valley by telegraphing General Imboden at Staunton.

Maj. Gen. SAMUEL JONES:

Dublin,

August 11, 1863.

The following telegram just received from Gen. Lee:

ORANGE COURT-HOUSE,
August 11, 1863.
Maj. Gen. SAMUEL JONES:

I am not certain Gen. Imboden is correct in his supposition. Telegraph to him at Staunton to keep you advised. He represents Kelley's strength-infantry, artillery, and cavalry-at 4,000. If you two could unite upon him, you could demolish him.
R. E. LEE.

I have telegraphed Imboden as suggested.

CHAS. S. STRINGFELLOW.
