Summary:
Confederate General John C. Breckinridge reports to General Braxton Bragg that he
is moving his troops to Staunton under orders from General Lee in May, 1864.

Under instructions from Gen. Lee, I am moving my available force toward Staunton. If Gen. Jones moves into Tennessee, this whole country will be at mercy of force now threatening from Kanawha. Please direct him in co-operation with Gen. Jenkins to cover this front from Monroe County to Saltville. Please answer.
