Union General Alfred Torbert writes to General Morgan in May, 1865, to report that Union cavalry are now stationed in Staunton.

Dispatch from Gen. Hancock received. Col. Reed with 600 cavalry is now in Staunton with seven days' supplies. Does the general wish the expedition to go up there before Col. R.'s return?
