Union General Christopher Auger reports in April, 1865, that Confederate General George Pickett's Division was seen moving through Staunton to fight in the Valley.

Gen. Gamble, commanding at Fairfax Court-House, reports that a rebel deserter just arrived there states that Pickett's division passed through Staunton on Monday last to join Early in the Valley.

I send the report for your consideration. I will have the deserter sent in here in the morning and get his story in full.
