I have been notified by Gen. Lee that Southwest Virginia and East Tennessee has been added to my department. What is state of things in East Tennessee? Where is Maj. Stoddard Johnston? Let your brigade be held in readiness to move to railroad at Dublin at a moment's notice. Continue in charge until further orders.
