August, 1861, Confederate special orders sending a regiment through Staunton.


SPECIAL ORDERS, No. 129. ADJT. AND INSP. GEN.'S OFFICE,

August 20, 1861.

XVIII. Brig.-Gen. Holmes, commanding the Fredericksburg District, will order Col. Semmes' Second Georgia Regt. to proceed to Manassas, Va., and join the brigade of Gen. Toombs, of which it forms a part.

XIX. Col. W. J. Clarke's Fourteenth (Twenty-fourth) Regiment North Carolina Volunteers will proceed on to-morrow to Staunton, Va., and thence to join Gen. R. E. Lee, near Huntersville.

XX. Col. James Cantey's Fifteenth Regt. Alabama Volunteers will proceed to Manassas, Va., on the 22d instant and report for duty to Gen. Johnston, commanding.

XXI. Col. Ward's Second Regt. Florida Volunteers will proceed to Yorktown, Va., and report for duty to Gen. Magruder, commanding.
