Summary:
Pennsylvania Governor Andrew Curtin writes Thomas A. Scott in November, 1861, concerning the possibility of raising a regiment of Franklin County men. Curtin believes it is possible if a camp can be set up at Chambersburg, where sheds and supplies are already present.

Hon. THOMAS A. SCOTT:

HARRISBURG,

November 7, 1861.

We can raise a regiment in Franklin County quickly if a camp is allowed at Chambersburg. The sheds, stores, and other property used in spring are there. Gen. McCalla (McAllen) will command the regiment. Will you authorize it? Telegraph me and the quartermaster and commissary here.

A. G. CURTIN.
