Dear Cousin

I take this opportunity to write to you a few lines You let you know that I am in tolerbly health at this time and hope that those few lines may find you all enjoying good health all the folks at home were well the last I herd of your fathers family was all well the last time I herd from home It has bin a long time since I have herd from you I would be very glad to hear from you and you may have a very good idea of my situation at this time and would be very much benefited by you if you be so kind as to send me some money as I am in want of some assistance at the preasant time and shall be more than obliged to you I will have to close this as I have not room to write you more. pleas write to me soon and direct to me prisoner of war com-I. 10 th division point lookout Maryland.
