Dear Sir
Your resignation of June 24th, was received, on the second day of the present month, and is accepted, and in consideration of the faithful, and Gentlemanlike manner in which you have filled the Office you have so long held, you are hereby honorably discharged from the office of [unclear: Father] [unclear: protem ], to M. L. Pillsberry, by the real [unclear: Father] Joseph Pillsberry.
I wish herein to tender you & your good Wife, & all other Gentlemen and Ladies in Virginia my sincere gratitude for the many tokens of Kindness, and respect shown to my Daughter, while she was among you, and it is my earnest desire that no evils, but much good may arise from her stay, and labours in your vicinity.
