Freedmen's Bureau Records: R. M. Manly to Thomas P. Jackson, September 19, 1867

Summary:
Manly asks Jackson about the situation regarding schools in Staunton for the coming year.

Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands,
Head Quarters Assistant Commissioner, District of Virginia. Mr. Thos. P. Jackson
Agt. Bureau Staunton

Sep. 19-- 1867

Richmond, Va.,

My Dear Sir:

I write to inquire what information you may have in regard to teachers for Staunton the coming year. How many are coming and what provision are you making for the accomodation of the schools. We are obliged, in these times, quite generally, to pay rent on churches when we use them for schools. You can do the same, I suppose if you think best.

Very Respy

R. M. Manly
