Martha Butler (col'd) and her three children are a charge upon the corporation of Staunton. She belongs to the University District, Albemarle Co. and the civil authorities propose to send her thither. Please inform me if the civil authorities of Albemarle Co. are prepared to receive and provide for her.

authorities are compelled to take care of their poor and if she comes she will
probably be provided for, that is I will see that she is, though I cant see the
use of sending her here. We are full and no vacant
