Dear Sir

We the undersigned Trustees, Pastor and Officers of the Colored M. E. We also beg leave to state that at a meeting of the Colored people held for considering this subject that the sense of the people was taken and the whole body with one single exception voted in favor of forwarding this Petition.

And now thinking that you may have an influence in this matter we must earnestly pray that you will so direct it as to return Mr. Scott to us.
