Supt. Freed Schools
Richmond Va

Nov. 29, 1867

Harpers Ferry, W. Va.

Dear Sir:

Enclosed please find blanks and transportation tickets filled out according to your instructions. By way of apology for sending as I did at first, I will say that I was directed in Washington, simply to get your signature and the signature of the teachers. I will send you a report of schools as soon as possible.

Yours Very Truly

N.C. Brackett

P.S. As you will see, part of the transportation tickets have been used and a portion of them have not. N.C.B.
The three teachers who received transportation to Staunton are teaching at Lexington. Perhaps it should be put down Staunton to accord with the transportation orders, if so please change it. N.C.Brackett.
[written at top of letter]The reason for not using the transportation tickets is enclosed in each. N.C.B.
