My dear sister
i have took My pen in hand to inform you that i am well at present and i hope that you ar in joyen the same state of health give my love to all the rest of the frends you Can tell them that i am on saint simons Island georgia we was on the sea seven days befor we gut to Camp and after we weas thear one day we went out to put up ar tents and soon we was herred with the roll of the drums to retret in to ar corters to get ar guns and equipment not nowen wat was the matter but fallen in the ranks taken sun watter in ar Cant tean one day rasens in ar hav sack one spoon full of coffee and sugar and sixty [unclear: runds] of [unclear: Cat] [unclear: ergs] and then we was March to the river and gut on the ship and went a but fifteen mils thear was thee guns bots with went be for us and at last we Came to a little town and be for we gut to it we sent too or thee shells in to it and all the pople run and left it and we came and gut of the ship and went in to it and took every thing that was good we gut sum sheep and sum cattl and hogs and chickens and meny others things and then we set the town on fier and burnt it down and then we cam a bout tow mils to word Camp and then stop and staded on the ship all night and the nix morning we cam back to Camp and now i must tell you abut a nother exsitement we had one night we was all asleep and the picet begun to fier and we ran out of ar tents and formd a line thinken that the revels was Coming but it was nothen but a calf that was Coming a long but tha stop him with a ball thear ar meny other things with i have sean that i Can not tell you of now for i must Com to a Close pleas to rit to me and let me now wither you gut the letter that i sent to you with the money in it and wither you gut my litnes or not
