i tak this present time to rite you thes fu lines to let you now that i am Well at present and i hope Whean thes fu lines reach you tha ma find you in the same state of healte i am happy to say that i recead yor kind letter on the 20th of may and i Was verry happy to hear frum you and all the rest it make me feal glad to hear that you ar so fat since i left home and then i get mad to think that i Cant get home to se you and now it has bean over a year cince i left home and had to sleap by mi celfe and dow mi Washing and som times dow mi one cocking but i hope that it Will over be for long and that i Can be With you i Went and saw the [unclear: Curlel] and he sead that he Wod try and get me a ferloo as son as he Cod and as son as he Cod get me home he sead and it Will bea a Wile befor i Can get a Way but as son as i Can i Will be home and if i ever get home a gane safe and get out of the army Wiy i Will never live you a gane as long as i live fer i now What it is to be a soldier in a battel i am glad to hear that Johan stade home but he Was not lik me but the reasen that i Cum Was becos i thot it a big thing to be a Solder i have fond out a boute it and it Was so [unclear: losom] at home but i Cod stay at home if every body Wod lieave thear but i think that We ma all live to get hom a gane and if We dow Wiy i will heave somen to live on fer i never Was as long With out money in mi life or Curel say that We will get ore pay in thirty Days or he will take us to boston and pay us of fer it is too bad that We hafte to go so long With out money we have bean Wayten fer [unclear: Coner] to a turn pay us the thirteen Dolers a month and the last male say that the [unclear: uinter] [unclear: stle] wont pay us but but teen Dolers a month and guvern andru say that he Will Col us out of the fieald and pay us of and send us hom a gane and i hope that he Will i Was glad that you rote to me about bob rite fer he had rote to me for healpe to pay for the hose and that that he Was trying to get it pade for but if he is too stiny to pay for a poast stampe Wiy i Will never think of riten to him a gane i heave not got paper a nofe to rite all that i Wish to rite but i hope hope that you receave this letter fer i never got it till now
