patient was wounded at Chancellorsville May 30, 1863. Minnie ball entering just above the p[illeg.] cavity passing out in region of middle third of fibula without fracture anywhere. After receiving his wound he was taken prisoner and held thirty days during which time his wound received no dressing. [illeg.] he was convoyed to the 5th Army Corps Hospital where he received daily attention for one month up to the time of his coming here. Since when he entered here the knee was very much swollen and so stiff that he could not move it. Employed irrigation and he is now moving about with partial anchyl[illeg.] which I have no doubt can be in a great measure [deleted: ] use
