I certify on honor that Simon W. Ripley a Sergeant of Capt. Andrew R. Davison Company ("K") 126th Regt. Pa. Vols was born in Greencastle Franklin County Penna. Aged 35 years 5 feet 11 inches height dark complexion, grey eyes, black hair, and when enlisted was by occupation a [illeg.]er. Having joined the company at its original organization at Greencastle Pa on the second day of August 1862 was mustered in by Capt. W. B. Lane, U.S.A. on the seventh day of August 1862 for the period of nine months. Was killed in action at Chancellorsville Va. May 3d, 1863.

The said Sergt. Simon W. Rupley has pay due him from the 28th day of February 1863 to the time of his death and whatever other allowances are due to Volunteer Soldiers for Nine Months. He recd $25.00 bounty $2.00 premium. He recd from the state of Penna clothing to the amount of $23.44 and from the United States $7.24.

The deceased left no effects.

Given at Greencastle this the 8th day of August 1863.
