Camp in the Field, near Fredericksburg, Va.

At a meeting of the Field officers and Company Commanders (on duty with the regiment) of the 126th Regiment Penna Volunteers, called by James G. Elder, Col. Comdg the regiment, at his Headquarters, this date, for the purpose of, filling the vacancy in the Chaplaincy of the said regiment occasioned by the resignation of Rev. Samuel G. Niccols, on nomination made and vote had, Rev. John Ault of Loudon, in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, a regularly ordained minister of the German Reformed Church, was unanimously nominated to Col. James G. Elder, commanding the regiment, for appointment as Chaplain of the said regiment.
