Summary:
Reamen writes to ask Cameron's financial aid to attend seminary school.

Feby 7th 1859

Chambersburg

Hon Simon Cameron
Dear Sir

You will no doubt think it strange that I should apply to you for assistance but the reputation you have for assisting young men is my excuse.

I have a desire to study for the Ministering and to do so I will have to attend a preparatory school for one year and a half at the expiration of that time [unclear: Presbytery] will take charge of me and I can finish my education free of expense.

To attend this preparatory school requires Three Hundred and Fifty Dollars two hundred of which a friend has agreed to give me and I wish to know if you will

give or loan me the balance $150-).

If you loan it to me I will repay you as soon as possible it may be that I could not return it for five or six years, but possibly I can return it sooner.

In regard to my sincerity and previous character I refer you to
