I received your Letter dated 12th March, yesterday. I found Enclosed in it the Two Certificates of the U. S. Loan -- $1,000 each, also, your check for $30, on the Bank of the Metropolis, Washington -- for Mr. G. Smith, For which you have the cordial thanks of us all also for your prompt attention & kind favor.

Brother & I both thank you also for a copy of your Speech in Congress and anticipate the reading with pleasure.
