Freedmen's Bureau Records: R. M. Manly to John
Scott, May 23, 1869
Summary:
Manly write Scott about rent vouchers, and about raising money to build a house
for two teachers in Staunton.
Mr. John Scott,
Staunton, Virginia
May 23d 1869
Sir,
Duplicate vouchers for rent of building at Staunton enclosed for signature.
Where shall the check be sent? It will probably not be received from Washington under two weeks.
If $500 in Cash [added: or its equivalent] is raised, enough money will be furnished by this Bureau to put up a house of two rooms, to accomodate two teachers.
Yours &c
R.M. Manly
