My Dear
I take this present opportunity to Read you a few lines to inform you that I am Well at present and i hope
When these few lines Reach you they May find you in the same state of health My Dear I have Wrote three or four letters to you But i have been Moving around so much that i Did Not Know
Whether you got it or Not and the last letter I Receive from you Why it Was such a Nice letter that I Was sorry that I had Wrote such a letter as i Did But i hope that you Will excuse Me for it for i Was very [unclear: andrun] at that time
But When i got this last letter Why it Was [unclear: somien] like a letter and I hope that all the Rest Will be like it for then i am very happy to get a letter But When they Come like they Did for awhile Why it goes very hard With Me for i hated to open the letter for after i Would
Read it Why then I Could go off to Myself and set Down and study about it but Now if you Would Write every week Why it Would Not be too often for Me for We have been [unclear: trubel] for some time I left the [unclear: Comasar] and joined the Regiment in Charleston city and then We Went to the city of savannah georgia and We stayed there for two weeks and then We
left and Went Back to Charleston city and stayed there 5 Days and then We left and Came to Georgetown south Carolina and i Can't tell how long We Will be here for
there is [illeg.] [unclear: Cumey] [unclear: rdy] to pack up for to leave and i Can't tell Where they are going and Now there it is time for Me to get Ready for dress parade
