My Dear sister
i take my pen in Hand to inform you that We are All Well at present and i hope that When these few lines Come to hands that they may find you in good health We are in Savannah now and i think that We Will be there all summer We Was in Charleston awhile and We left and Went to savannah i Would have Wrote sooner but i had no paper and i thought that i Would not Write till i Would get my things but i have got them now Give my love to father and to elizabeth And to all the rest of the friends I think that We Will have pretty good times now i think that We Will Do the provost Duty in the City the Regiment is in good health at the present
Pleas to Write soon And let me know How [unclear: tims] is it is very Warm here now and the peach trees are in bloom down here and every thing is green i seen David today and he is Well and if i Can get home this summer i Will Come. We Will be paid of soon i think you must excuse my short letter this time for i must fall in for inspection now and i haven't time to Write much this time so i think i must Come to a Close this time nothing more a present but still remain
