i take this present time to write you these few lines to let you know that i am Well at present and i hope When these few lines reach you they may find you in the same state of health i thought i Would write and let you know that We have move move back to morris island and We left Jacksonville on the 14th of April and We landed here last night it rain all day and all night but our Colonel got us in to houses to stay all night and he Went and bought a whole lot of [unclear: Can] [unclear: sope] and We had a great supper and then i strips off my Wet Clothes and Went to bed and i Could not sleep much but i got up in the morning and i fell a little bad but as soon as i got my Clothes dried i felt better i Can't tell how how long i Will bear here but you Can write as soon as you Can and direct your letter to morris island south Carolina i Wish that you Would let me know Where John has to move to and let me know how large the house is for if i don't get home in a short time Why i Want you to go and stay With John for i Will be paid off in a short time and then i Want you to stop Working out for i know that you Can't stand it much longer and they have move us out of the [unclear: deaner] until We get paid off or be sent home and if they pay us Why i Will send it all home i had wrote some two or three letter but they said that they Would not go without post stamps and i had none to put on them and i hope that you Will send me some if you Can get them and if you Can't Why you must write often i now must bring my letter to a Close by bidding you good night nothing more at present but still remain
