My Dear Wife

I take this opportunity to inform you that I am Well at present and I hope When these few lines reach you they may find you in the best state of health I receive your letter on the 25th of november i Was happy to hear from you and I did not Care how small the letter Was Just so I got One but you Can't tell how sweet it Was to me to get it for I Would like to hear from you everyday If i Could get it but i must tell you of the great time that We had on thanksgiving it Was the best day that We ever had since i left home there Was a pole put up and they put 13th dollars in the [unclear: panes] and then they grease the pole With fat so When they Would try to get up the Why they Would slip and they tried all day but they Could not get up the till night and then there Was a man in our Company that Climb up to the top and got the pants down and he got thirteen dollars and a pair of pants and then they got up a race for 500 dollar to run in a bag One of our men men got it and the next best got two dollars and then they got [unclear: Whiling] and they tied up their eyes so that they Could not see Where they Were going and some Was playing ball and some Was [unclear: dakesing] and all Kinds of [unclear: alking] and all got along very Well and you had I spoke of the letter that you had wrote to me With the [unclear: read] paper in I did get it some time ago nothing more at this time give my love to uncle Sol and to aunt marrey and all the rest of my friend and i think that i Will be at home soon but i Would like to know Whether you got all the things from his son or not and i hope that you Will excuse this letter and this bad writing please to write soon and let me how you are give my love to ginny gater and tell her to write to me soon and Miss [unclear: Cand] and to sharlite baron to write to me the more letters that i get the better i like
