Summary:
S. E. Suffield reports that James Pott requires additional leave to recover from his wound in his head.

January 7, 1863

McConnelsburg, Pennsylvania

I have been the attending physician of Lieut. James Pott of the 126th Pennsylvania Volunteers who was wounded in the face at the late battle of Fredericksburg. His furlough will expire at the 18th instant It is my opinion from the present condition of his wounds, that an extension of twenty days will be necessary in order to fit him for active duty.

Very Respectfully

S. E. Suffield
