I received your check on the Bank of Chambersburg for one hundred & Eighty three dollars & seventy five cents to be credited on the note of the [unclear: Mgr] G Brewer-

If the balance of the note could be paid to James Dickey to whom I owe money & his receipt taken therefore it would answer Every purpose
